What is Alternative Energy ? My Personal Views

"What is Alternative Energy?" You may be asking yourself that question right now. "Why would this article be of interest to me?" Well here we are, and Ill explain both to you.

First off, alternative energy is as most of you would guess an alternative to those nasty fossil fuels that are ruining the world around us. The prior reason I gave you is also for your second question, "Why would this article be of interest for me"? Because it affects your life! If you can get enough information to make a choice on whether or not you want to convert to the use of alternative energy or not, then your making a huge life decision.

Personally, I think alternative energy is great! A mass conversion to use of alternative energy would help the world a lot! And believe it or not, a lot of countries are beginning the first steps towards this conversion, but even more are not, and unfortunately these are countries that really matter in the fact that they pose a role model for many other countries.

America, for instance, while it appears it is also taking those steps at times, it really isn't. This is where democracy is taking a bad turn in preserving mother earth. Simply put, their is too much freedom, and that teamed with the popular belief that while alternative energy will better our lives in the long run, satisfaction will not be achieved instantly in its use. America is stuck on the flashy gas guzzlers for instance. While they look "cool" and such, they are a major harm in the environment.

Yes, America has found alternative energy that is effective, but car companies aren't willing to break away from tradition to save the planet sadly enough. And the modern American- the modern Civilian on Earth for that matter- is just fueling the engine, pun not intended. Okay so while the modern man and woman have those beliefs, its not entirely true. Scientists have found some alternatives that work just as well, if not better than Fossil fuels.

The reason why were not using them is as I have mentioned in former, simply because of misconception and unwillingness of the car companies and civilians part to break with "tradition", with "the normal.”

Alright now that I've explained those parts, let’s take a look at some of these "Alternative Energies". Alternative energies include the following: Solar energy, wind energy, biomass energy, geothermal energy, hydrogen fuel cells and hydroelectric power.

First let’s take a look at solar energy. As I'm sure you know solar energy is energy produced from the sun stored in an object called a solar panel. They panel soaks up the heat from the sun and stores it for use at later time. Then there are Photovoltaic cells (PV cells) which conduct energy from the suns light. This type of solar energy is used to charge batteries and calculators and such. PV cells are unreliable during times when the sun cannot be seen, as the light cannot reach the device to generate the power needed.

Next we have Wind Energy. In the process to make wind energy, a Turbine is erected. This structure is just like a modern wind mill. The wind turns the blades on the turbine causing a mechanical generator inside to generate an electric force. These too are unreliable as for the fact that no wind equals no power.

Biomass Energies are those produced from earthly goods, such as corn, chicken waste, Wood pellets, and coconuts. Some existing biomass fuels are Ethanol, biodiesel, and 80-20. All of these are great ways to cut down on pollution. As well as solve another huge problem. WASTE DISPOSAL! That’s right, biomass fuels are made from trash. Nice way to kill two birds with one stone eh?

I hope this article has been helpful to you to make an appropriate decision, as well as entertained you and informed you.
